ABOUT GALLERYSMITH
Gallerysmith has been a recognised name in the visual arts for almost two decades. Since 2008, the gallery has developed a strong reputation for showcasing artists with international reputations and important mid-career artists while also successfully shaping the careers of emerging practitioners.
Director Marita Smith brings more than 25 years of experience in the visual arts, supported by postgraduate qualifications in Museum Studies and undergraduate degrees in Arts and Architecture. She provides expert guidance across all aspects of art acquisition, collection development and curatorial strategy.
Gallery Manager Belinda Neilson holds a Master of Art Curatorship and has over a decade of experience within the commercial gallery sector. Together with a dedicated team, including communications specialist Lulu Smith, the gallery offers a highly personalised and informed approach to working with collectors, artists and institutions.
Gallerysmith artists are selected through a rigorous curatorial process aligned with the gallery’s vision of presenting contemporary art of lasting significance. Their work is regularly included in major art prizes, curated exhibitions and institutional acquisitions, and is widely published in art journals, monographs and exhibition catalogues.
