ABOUT GALLERYSMITH

Gallerysmith opened in Melbourne in 2008 and represents a selection of exceptional early and mid-career artists from around Australia. We strive to present exhibitions that are deeply connected to cultural identity, have a strong conceptual foundation and are well executed. Our artists comment on environmental, political and personal issues. Gallerysmith artists are represented in state and other public collections throughout Australia and private collections in Australia, the UK, Europe and Asia.

Gallerysmith comprises three spacious galleries showcasing multiple bodies of work across a range of media. It hosts an innovative program of monthly-changing exhibitions. Our private viewing gallery can be booked for individuals or groups at any time.

Marita Smith brings 10 years experience as a curator of significant corporate and public collections to her role as director. This experience builds on her tertiary and post-graduate qualifications in fine art, architecture and museum studies. Marita can assist individuals or organisations to develop an art collection on sound curatorial principles.
