This painting, Minang Boodjar Bidi (Minang country trail/track), shows the shoreline around Albany; an area of great natural beauty which is abundant with native flora and fauna. In the foreground, a male and female figure are seen making a journey eastward across Minang country, like the physical or personal journey that Nyoongar people take. Part of this journey could be about finding identity and culture or loss of these things; each person's journey is different.
Floating on the surface of the work is a pathway intersected by a grid-like obstacle. The obstacle is typographic in nature but also references traditional Nyoongar body markings.
